James L. Kaehr, 61 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at his residence. Jim was born on December 11, 1944 in Decatur, Indiana, the son of Lester D. Kaehr and Catherine L. (Lichtle) Kaehr. He married Nancy Burger on January 17, 1969 in Decatur, Indiana and she survives. Jim was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Decatur, Indiana Jim retired in April 2005 from General Electric in Ft. Wayne, Indiana after 15 years of service as a pipe fitter. He also worked at International Harvester from 1977 to 1982. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Kaehr of Decatur, Indiana, son, Jon Kaehr of Decatur, Indiana, son, Doug Kaehr of Decatur, Indiana, parents, Lester & Catherine Kaehr of Decatur, Indiana, brother, Don Kaehr of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, brother, Dan J. Kaehr of Decatur, Indiana, sister, Jude Kaehr of Decatur, Indiana, brother, Steve M. Kaehr of Decatur, Indiana, brother, Greg Kaehr of South Bend, Indiana, brother, Tony Kaehr of Warsaw, Indiana, and five grandsons: Nash, Jace, Bailey, Brayton, And Grayson Kaehr all of Decatur, Indiana. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Dahling officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to the Adams County Community Foundation-Kidney Fund or the Donor's Choice.
