Gary R. Williams Sr.

Gary R. Williams Sr., 53 years old of Willshire, Ohio, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at his residence. Gary was born on Thursday, June 2, 1955 in Florence, Alabama the son of the late Gilbert Williams and the late Pauline (Stove) Williams. He married Mary "Katie" Woodall on June 1, 1977 and she survives. Gary was a very active member of the United Steel Worker's of America Local 14742 where he was 3rd shift chief steward; a member of the Sportsman Club in Willhsire; and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Gary was a steelworker and had worked for Federal Mogul for 13 years; Huffys for 10 years and was a volunteer fireman for the town of Willshire for 20 years. Surviving are his wife, Katie Williams of Willshire, Ohio, son, James (Charlene Bonfer) Hurley of Willshire, Ohio; daughter, Angie (Kurt) Krall of Wren, Ohio; son, Gary "Ricky" Williams Jr. of Willshire, Ohio; brother, Larry (Betty) Williams of Florence, Alabama; brother, Lance Williams of Florence, Alabama; mother-in-law, Audrey Woodall of Willshire, Ohio; and seven grandchildren: Matt and Tony Hurley; Kamber, Desteny, and Alyssa Hurley; Hayden Heckman; and Gabe Williams. Preceding Gary in death was one son, David L. Hurley; and one brother, Eugene Williams. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana with the Rev. Mark Mark Rutledge officiating. Interment will follow in the Bales Hill Cemetery located in Livingston, Kentucky. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to the family.
