Russell Wayne Gaskill, 73 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 7:15 p.m. at his residence. Russ was born on Thursday, August 6, 1936 in Allen County, Indiana the son of the late Gerald Gaskill and the late Geneva (Feasby) Gaskill. He married Colleen Jump on April 12, 1958 in Allen County, Indiana and she survives. Russ retired from Phelps Dodge-Magnet Wire in Ft. Wayne, Indiana in January 1988 after 32 years of service. Russ served his country in the United States Army for 3 years. Surviving are his wife, Colleen Gaskilll of Monroeville, Indiana; son, Danny (Veronica) Gaskill of Land O Lakes, Florida; son, Rodney Gaskill of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Becky (Jerold) Martin of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; brother, Roger (Sue) Gaskill of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; brother, Doug (Carol) Gaskill of Van Wert, Ohio; brother-in-law, Tom Jones of Monroeville, Indiana; brother-in-law, Russ Jones of Monroeville, Indiana; sister-in-law, Carole Gaskill of Monroeville, Indiana; and six grandchildren. Preceding Russell in death were two sisters, Jean Jones, Barbara "Bobbie" Jones; and one brother, Ron Gaskill. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana with Pastor Denise Lapsley. Interment will follow in the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to Parkview Hospice or Monroeville EMS.
