Robert J. Drake, 78 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 8:50 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2007 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur, Indiana. Robert was born on March 28, 1929 in Decatur, Indiana, the son of the late Thomas Dorwin Drake and the late Cora E. (Springer) Drake. He married the late Betty L. Drake on February 4, 1956 in Decatur, Indiana and she passed away on June 14, 2003. Robert served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1311; V.F.W. and the American Legion Post #43 where he was a past commander from 1973-1974. Robert retired from Rea Magnet Wire. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Carl (Becky D.) Fisher of Bluffton, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Steve (Cheri L.) Zimmerman of Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Brett (Suzy D.) Brunner of Decatur, Indiana, son, Dennis (Caron) Miller of Ossian, Indiana, nine grandchildren: Melissa Lough, James Fisher, Shelly Sharp, Terri Lynn Harp, Brittney Brunner, Elly Brunner, Demi Brunner, Angela Park and Carrie Harmeyer; and seven great-grandchildren: Cole Watson, Zack Sharp, Austyn Sharp, Zoey Harp, Mackenzie Harp, Alexander Park, and Jonathan Park. Preceding Robert in death were four brothers, Lester, Harry, Arlo, and Charles Drake and three sisters, Samantha Andrews, Carrie Hebert, and Ozema Isch. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Military Graveside Services will be conducted by Adams Post #43 Color Guard. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2007 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. A Moose Memorial Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday following visitation. Preferred memorials are to Adams County Community Foundation-Cancer Fund; Mooseheart; Moosehaven; or Adams Post #43 American Legion Color Guard.
