Walter Wiegmann, 85 years old of Decatur, Indiana, entered into eternal life at 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at his residence. Walter was born on Tuesday, April 27, 1926 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana the son of the late Henry Wiegmann and the late Minnie (Oetting) Wiegmann. Walter was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church - Preble in rural Decatur, Indiana; he was a graduate of New Haven High School Class of 1944; and he was a graduate of Reppert Auction School in 1945. Walter was a prominent auctioneer and real estate broker in the Ft. Wayne, Indiana area for 60 years. He began the Wiegmann Auctioneers firm in 1945. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Barbara (Morning)Wiegmann of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Connie Jeffrey of Decatur, Indiana; son, Ron (Debra) Wiegmann of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Bonnie (Steve) Sipe of New Haven, Indiana; sister, Gloria Werling of New Haven, Indiana; sister, Ruth Peters of Decatur, Indiana; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding Walter in death were his parents and one son-in-law, Gary Jeffrey. A 9:30 a.m. Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Service in the St. Paul Lutheran Church - Preble with Rev. Dr. Daniel J. Brege officiating. Entombment will follow in the Concordia Gardens Cemetery in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2011 and from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 and from 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to St. Paul Lutheran Church - Preble; or the SPI School.
