Lynn Dale Fuhrmann, 51 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 10:35 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in the Parkview Hospital located in Fort Wayne, Indiana as a result of congestive heart failure, which had affected him for many years. Lynn was born on Wednesday, February 17, 1960 in Decatur, Indiana the son of the late Paul Fuhrmann and the late Adelinda M. (Buuck) Fuhrmann. Lynn was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Friedheim. He was an active supporter of the Preble Volunteer Fire Department for many years and was also involved with tractor pulling and demolition derbies for many years. Lynn was a lifelong Adams County farmer and was also formerly employed with North American Van Lines (SIRVA) as a truck mechanic. Surviving are his son, James (Karrie) Fuhrmann of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Delores (Mort) Maldeney of Monroeville, Indiana; sister, Lois (John) Lane of Greer, South Carolina; sister, Sharon (Mike) Christianer of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Elden (Colleen) Fuhrmann of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Leonard Fuhrmann of Decatur, Indiana; sister -in-law, Colleen Fuhrmann of Decatur, Indiana; mother of James, Kim Fuhrmann of New Haven, Indiana. Preceding Lynn in death were three brothers: Dean, Ronald & Larry Fuhrmann; and one brother-in-law, Tom Colchin. A 10:15 a.m. Prayer Service will held Monday, September 12, 2011 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana followed by an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Friedheim with Rev. Daniel Dahling officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Friedheim. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2011 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the prayer service on Monday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Zion Lutheran Church-Friedheim or Preble Volunteer Fire Department.
