Mary A. Beam, 76 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 4:53 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010 in the Parkview Hospital located in Fort Wayne, Indiana following an illness of two years. Mary was born on Friday, June 9, 1933 in the state of Ohio; the daughter of the late Virgil M. Brown and the late Mary (Justinger) Brown. She married the late Homer D. Beam on November 7, 1959 in the St. Andrew's Catholic Church and he passed away on August 3, 2007. Mary was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville; the V.F.W. Post #2457 in New Haven, Indiana; and the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed playing Euchre; fishing, camping, and gardening. Mary retired from sales for Van Oren Tool & Die Company in Ft. Wayne, Indiana after over 30 years of service. Surviving are her sister, Jane Norris of Garrett, Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Preceding Mary in death were husband, Homer D. Beam in 2007; her father and mother, Virgil M. and Mary (Justinger) Brown; brothers, Russell and Ernie Brown; sister, Bonnie Holycross-McClellan; and great-nephews, Chris Brown and Travis Kress. A 9:25 a.m. Prayer Service will be held Friday, May 21, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, Indiana with the Fr. Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. A Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are Masses to the church; or Parkview Hospice.
