Ethel C. Elliott, 93 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010 in the Village of Heritage where she had resided since 2007. She was born on Wednesday, February 28, 1917 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the daughter of the late Frank VanBuskirk and the late Malinda (Simmers) Van Buskirk. She married Myron T. Elliot on June 22, 1935 in Zanesville, Indiana and he passed away on October 18, 1992. Ethel was a member of the Monroeville United Methodist Church and was the librarian in Monroeville for twenty-nine years, retiring in 1987. Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn A. Rhoades of Monroeville, son, Neal F. (Gigi) Elliott of Lancaster, Ohio, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren, one niece & one nephew. Preceding Ethel in death were one sister, Margaret Newport. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, January 3, 2011 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Rev. Ralph Klinker and Rev. Denise Lapsley officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Friends will be received from 12 noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, January 2 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville and from 11 a.m. to the time of service on Monday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Monroeville United Methodist Church, Family Hospice & Palliative Care in Berne, Indiana, Village of Heritage Overhang Fund or the Monroeville Branch Library.
