Mary V. Trabel, 92 years old formerly of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2009 in the Saint Anne Home & Retirement Community located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mary was born on Thursday, September 13, 1917 in New Haven, Indiana the daughter of the late Henry Bowers and the late Louise (Maldeney) Bowers. She married the late Clarence S. Trabel on June 28, 1939 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon in New Haven, Indiana and he passed away on April 30, 1987. Mary was a member of the St. Rose Catholic church in Monroeville, Indiana where she had been a 45 year member of the Adult Choir; and taught CCD classes at the church for 30 years. Mary was a homemaker. Surviving are her daughter, Marilyn C. Trabel of Palmetto, Florida; son, Eugene T. (Mary Jo) Trabel of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Eileen M. Schneider of Goshen, Indiana; son, Ronald H. Trabel of Monroeville, Indiana; brother, Francis J. (Theresa) Bowers of New Haven, Indiana; sister, Loretta (Hubert) Sorg of New Haven, Indiana; brother-in-law, Raymond Beuscher of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and eight grandchildren. Preceding Mary in death were three sisters, Hilda Schnelker, Florence Sarrazine and Cecilia Shoulders; and five brothers, Bernard, Ed, Elmer, Herman, and Merlin Bowers. There will be a 9:30 a.m. Prayer Service, October 8, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funerael Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, Indiana with Father Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery - Besancon, New Haven, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana with a Rosary Service at 4:00 p.m. Preferred memorials are Masses to the church or Monroeville EMS.
