Elodee J. Marbaugh, 75 years old of Willshire, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in the Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center located in Van Wert, Ohio. She was born on Friday, November 13, 1936 in Van Wert County, Ohio the daughter of the late Harry E. Nye and the late Edith E. (Snyder) Nye. She married Thomas E. Marbaugh on August 21, 1954. Elodee was a former member of the Willshire United Methodist Church, where she served as the treasurer for many years. She was a charter member of the Van Wert & Mercer County Genealogy Society and authored several books about genealogy. She was a homemaker and had served as the clerk/treasurer for the Village of Wren. She had also worked at the Van Wert County Probate Court. Surviving are her husband, Thomas E. Marbaugh of Willshire, Ohio; daughter, Gayla Painter of Willshire, Ohio; daughter, Annette (Ronald) Schumm of Willshire, Ohio; daughter, Kelly Ross of Antwerp, Ohio; son, Chris (Cecilia) Marbaugh of Willshire, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Preceding Elodee in death were a son-in-law, Lewis "Boose" Painter and a brother in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Kittle officiating. Interment will follow in the Willshire Cemetery, Willshire, Ohio. Friends will be received from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Wren EMS, Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center or the Van Wert County Genealogy Society.
