Matthew A. Gerber, 37 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2007 as the result of a motorcycle accident in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Matthew was born on September 29, 1969 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of the late Paul E. Gerber and Florine L. (Jacobs) Gerber and she survives. Surviving are his mother, Florine L. Gerber of Decatur, Indiana, brother, Rodney D. Gerber of Decatur, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Theodore (Lisa E.) Smith of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, biological mother, Karen Smith-Ingol of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, biological father, Larry Ingol of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, sister, MyIshia Smith of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, brother, Sammuel Ingol of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, son, Deonte Whiteside of Chicago, Illinois, daughter, Laura "DeeDee" Sargent of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, son, Jeremiah Sarer of Louisville, Kentucky, a son in Alabama, and a host of special friends. Preceding Matthew in death was one sister, Carolyn E. Davis. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2007 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with the Elder Larry Gerber officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 12:00 NOON to 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2007 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana.. Preferred memorials are to the family.
