Betty Lou Plummer, 71 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 4:20 a.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at her residence. She was a resident of Decatur since October 2000. Betty was born on June 21, 1935 in Ladoga, Indiana the daughter of the late David Griggs and the late Ruth (Smith) Griggs. She married Robert F. Plummer on June 19, 1954 at the First Presbyterian Church in Antwerp, Ohio and he survives. Betty was a member of the St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Decatur, Indiana. Betty was active for eleven years with Group Bible Study Fellowship as a discussion group leader. She was a graduate of Antwerp High School Class of 1953 in Antwerp, Ohio, and then attended Nurse's training at the Toledo Hospital and the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. Betty was a clerk for the Civil Service; a homemaker; a published author of poems and traveled extensively with her husband. Surviving are her husband, Robert F. Plummer of Decatur, Indiana, and a sister, Joyce Unterbrink of Van Wert, Ohio. Preceding Betty in death was one sister, Dorothy Goldman in March 1995. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2006 in the St. Mark's United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Taylor and Rev. Fuhrman Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2006 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Preferred memorials are to the Northeast Indiana Kidney Center Foundation or the St. Mark's Memorial Fund.
