Delmer F. Thieme, 80 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 in the Adams Memorial Hospital. He was born on Saturday, July 23, 1927 in Union Twp., Indiana the son of the late Fred Thieme Jr. and the late Adela (Bohnke) Thieme. He married the late Lorena S. Thieme on April 7, 1951 in St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Ohio City, Ohio. She passed away on August 23, 2007. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Decatur where he had served as a deacon, trustee and treasurer. Delmer also served on the St. Peter Immanuel School Board. Delmer was a 1946 graduate of Monmouth High School and was a lifelong livestock and grain farmer. He had previously worked at International Harvester and had also worked construction. Surviving are his daughter, Sandra (Lynn) Selking of Decatur, Indiana, son, Ronald L. (Janine) Thieme of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Laurie (Tom) Odle of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Debra (Bill) Brenneman of Fort Wayne, Indiana, sister, Evelyn (Lester) Aumann of Decatur, Indiana, sister, Dorothy Graft of Fort Wayne, Indiana, sister, Bernita Harvey of Decatur, Indiana, brother, James R. (Carol) Thieme of Decatur, Indiana, ten grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Preceding Delmer in death was one sister, Lois Graft. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2007 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor David Koeneman and Vicar Conrad Oehlert officiating. Interment will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Preferred memorials are to Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund, St. Peter Immanuel Lutheran School or the donor's choice.
