Dorothy E. Poling, 67 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2012 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center located in Decatur. Dorothy was born on Wednesday, March 8, 1944 in Van Wert County, Ohio the daughter of the late Harold Hurless and the late Pauline (Foster) Hurless. Dorothy was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Decatur. Dorothy had worked at the Decatur Democrat prior ot a motorcycle accident in 1975. Surviving are her daughter, Tonya (Jeff) Garringer of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Toni (Roger Bixler) Cook of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Ivan "Whitey" Hurless of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Norma Jean (Larry) Harmon of Wren, Ohio; sister, Marlene (Dennis) Lobsiger of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Mary Ruskaup of Van Wert, Ohio; five grandchildren: Danielle Buckner, Taner Garringer, Tayler Garringer, Tara Sipe and Alexis Gorman; and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding Dorothy in death were her siblings: Paul "Homer" Hurless, Don "Tuck" Hurless, Gerald "Shag" Hurless and Marcile Oeschle. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Beall officiating. Interment will be in the Fletcher Cemetery, Wren, Ohio. Friends will be received from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the Woodcrest Chapel and from 5:00 until the time of the service in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Family LifeCare in Berne, Indiana or Cornerstone Community Church in Decatur, Indiana.
