Lorna M. Bultemeier, 84 years old of Bossier City, Louisianna, and formerly of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away in the Grace Hospice Home in Shreveport, Louisianna on Thursday, January 6, 2011. She was born on Wednesday, April 7, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of the late Edward B. Blum and the late Mildred (Porath) Blum. She married the late Erwin C. Bultemeier on July 8, 1955 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and he passed away on May 2, 1969. Lorna was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen, where she was active in the Ladies Guild and a church choir member. Lorna retired in 1992 with fourteen years of service to the Continuing Education Department of Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Surviving are her daughter, Diana (Gordon) Fitzpatrick of Williamsburg, Ohio; daughter, Tamera (Steve) Adams of Winnfield, Louisianna; daughter, Monica (Jeffrey) Lacy of Bossier City, Louisianna; son, Brent (Marie) Bultemeier of Texarkana, Texas; brother, Bart (Jan) Blum of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Donald Blum of Matoon, Illinois; brother, Edward (Nancy) Blum of Monte Rio, California; sister, Emily (Jerry) Fogel of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Theresa Hawkins of Martinsville, Indiana; sister, Carolyn Schwartz of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; fifteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding Lorna in death were one son, William, who was killed on December 23, 2000 while serving his country with the Defense Intelligence Agency in Africa; one grandson, Chad Heckler, as well as two sisters, Virginia and Dona. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with Rev. John Dreyer and Rev. Thomas Olson officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Bingen. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Preferred memorials are to Wyneken Memorial Lutheran School Scholarship Fund of Concordia Lutheran High School Memorial Scholarship Fund.
