Charles Everett Sipe

Charles Everett Sipe, 92, received the gift of eternal life at 6 PM on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Village of Heritage, Monroeville, IN. Born in Randolph County to the late Lorenzo & Mary (Pratt) Sipe on January 21, 1917. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn (Louise); 8 siblings, 1 granddaughter (Perri) & 1 great-granddaughter (Jessie). He is survived by sons Jerry (Kathy) & Steve (Bonnie) of Columbus. OH; Phil (Cathy) of Indianapolis; Kevin (Debbie) & Tony (Carolyn) of Monroeville, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He lived his entire adult life in the Monroeville area and wintered in Florida for 25 years. He was a retired Superintendent for Irmscher Construction, previous owner of a sawmill and an independent custom builder of homes and cabinets. One of his proud accomplishments was building the Frank Lloyd Wright designed John D. Haynes home in Ft. Wayne. He was a member of Legion Post 47 and served during WW II in the Merchant Marines. He graduated from Saratoga HS in 1935 & was a life time member of St. Marks Lutheran Church. Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at Zwick-Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, 111 S Water St, Monroeville, IN; and from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the church. Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 201 E South St., Monroeville, IN 46773 with Pastor William Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Marks Church, Village of Heritage, and Heartland Hospice.
