Dorothy A. Linker, 87 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur, Indiana where she had been a patient for 4 weeks. Dorothy was born on May 26, 1920 in Decatur, Indiana, the daughter of the late Gustav Ehlerding and the late Amanda (Ewell) Ehlerding. She married the late Vern H. Linker on October 5, 1940 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble and he passed away on February 23, 1996. Dorothy was a member of the Holy Scripture Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana; and was a member of the Ladies Society of the church. Dorothy was a homemaker and had also been a former employee of Dolco for 9 years. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Weldon (Janeen) Schaefer of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. David (Lois) Carver of Valparaiso, Indiana, son, Stanley G. (Deborah) Linker of Grapevine, Texas, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Preceding Dorothy in death were one son, Steven A. Linker in 1951; one grandson, Chad Linker; one sister Helen Schuller; two brothers, Herbert Ehlerding and Lewis Ehlerding. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Jansen officiating. Interment will follow in the Concordia Gardens Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Friends will be received from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2007 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Preferred memorials are to Worship For Shut-Ins, Holy Scripture Lutheran Church; or Family Hospice of NE Indiana.
