Don David Schieferstein, 60 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur, Indiana. Don was born on Tuesday, September 9, 1947 in Adams County, Indiana, the son of the late Thurman D. Schieferstein and the late Helen H. (Bohnke) Schieferstein. Don was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fuelling. Don was employed by Panacea Paints & Coatings Inc. and 2 Brothers Bar; and was formerly employed by Teeple Trucking and Dierkes Implement. Surviving are his son, Tyler David Schieferstein of Decatur, Indiana, ex-wife, Cynthia (Bohnke) Witte of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, brother, Phil D. Schieferstein of Decatur, Indiana, and sister, Karen Schieferstein of Decatur, Indiana. Preceding Don in death was one brother, Dean Schieferstein. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2007 in the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fuelling with Rev. Martin Moehring officiating. Interment will follow in the St Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2007 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Preferred memorials are to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fuelling; or Worship For Shut-Ins.
