Duane "Dean" Ingmire, 59 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at his residence following a house fire. He was born on Wednesday, July 2, 1952 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the son of the late Chester Ingmire and Gladys (Ohneck) Ingmire. Dean was a member of the National Rifle Association and a former member of the Fort Wayne Lions Club. He was a 2nd shift dispatcher for the Decatur Police Department for sixteen years and had also worked at Hitchcock Concrete in Decatur. He was a respected firearms, tactics, and self-defense instructor for multiple law enforcement agencies and individual civilians throughout the state of Indiana. Surviving are his son, Brian (Trina) Ingmire of Greensburg, Indiana; son, Jeremy (Andrea) Ingmire of Westport, Indiana; mother, Gladys Ingmire of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Dennis Ingmire of Fort Wayne, Indiana; former wife, Lettie (Eagar) Carpenter of Fort Wayne, Indiana, four grandchildren; Keelyn, Orion, Tristan & Lyra Ingmire. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Mo Hodge officiating. Interment will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 6 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Preferred memorials are to National Rifle Association 2nd Amendment Foundation or Supporting Heroes Inc.
