Robert M. Teeple, 91 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 12:40 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2011 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center located in Decatur, where he had resided for 6 1/2 years. Robert was born on January 15, 1920 in Adams County, Indiana the son of the late Albert Teeple and the late Leona (Bartling) Teeple. He married the late Betty D. (Zinsmaster) Frauhiger on April 9, 1976 and she passed away on January 17, 2003. Robert was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ; the American Legion Post #43; and the General Electric Quarter Century Club. Robert retired from the Decatur General Electric with 38 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed buying and selling antiques. Robert served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was wounded in action on February 27, 1945 in Germany. Surviving are his daughter, Sandra (Robert) Auer of Kissimmee, Florida; daughter, Jill (Michael) Burke of Mooresboro, North Carolina; daughter, Jackie Teeple (Blanca Garcia) of Woodland, California; step-son, Ron (Janet) Frauhiger of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Esther Adams of Berne, Indiana; brother, Albert (Shirley) Teeple Jr. of Sun City, Arizona; sister, Patricia (Jim) Marks of Sun City, Arizona; former wife of 28 years, Vella Dawn (Teeple) Wasson of Decatur, Indiana; five grandchildren: Robert Auer Jr., Damon Auer, Adams Auer, Chris Kukelhan, Sam Kukelhan; and ten great-grandchildren. Preceding Robert in death were three brothers: Richard, Raymond, Wayne Teeple; three sisters: Jessie Grepke, Zella Haines, Geraldine Teeple; and one grandson, Mark Auer on December 29, 2001. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Rev. Linn Bartling and Chaplain John Follett officiating. Interment will follow in the Tricker Cemetery, Monroe, Indiana. Military Graveside Services will be conducted by American Legion Post #43 Color Guard. Friends will be received from 7-8 p.m. Monday, May 30, in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, continued on Tuesday May 31 from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. at the Woodcrest Chapel, and 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.
