Eileen M. Castleman, 93 years old of New Haven, Indiana, passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 4, 2011 in the Village of Heritage located in Monroeville. Eileen had been a rural New Haven resident since 1977 and previously Monroeville. Eileen was born on Thursday, June 27, 1918 in Allen County, Indiana the daughter of the late Arthur L. Oberley and the late Amelia (Mourey) Oberley. She married the late Ervin D. "Boob" Castleman on January 19, 1939 in St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church and he passed away on May 30, 2000. Eileen was a member of the St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church in New Haven, Indiana and a member of the church Rosary Society. Eileen enjoyed quilting and was a homemaker.. Surviving are her son, James L. (Marilyn) Castleman; son, Edwin J. (Edna) Castleman;son, Joseph E. (Jane) Castleman, all of Monroeville, Indiana; son, David A. Castleman of Indianapolis, Indiana; son, Kenneth A. (Jean M.) Castleman of Monroeville, Indiana; son, John J. Castleman of Bluffton, Indiana; son, Ronald L. (Patricia) Castleman of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Carol A. (Edward) Lubomirski of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; thirty grandchildren, fifty-six great-grandchildren. Preceding Eileen in death were one daughter, Mary Ann Castleman at birth in 1939; one granddaughter, Michelle Castleman in 1981; three brothers, Robert, Arnold, Wilbur Oberley; and two sisters, Esther Oberley and Edith Ternet. A Prayer Service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana followed by at 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery - Besancon, New Haven, Indiana. Friends will be received from 1-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. There will be a Rosary Service at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are Masses to the church; Village of Heritage Activities Fund; or Cornerstone Youth Center in Monroeville.
