Jean A. Salway, 68 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, for the past 45 years, passed away at 3:20 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in the Parkview Hospital located in Fort Wayne, Indiana following a brief illness. Jean was born on Wednesday, May 5, 1943 in Payne, Ohio the daughter of the late Lloyd James and the late Mildred (George) James. She married John H. "Sarge" Salway on March 19, 1966 in Antwerp, Ohio and he survives. Jean was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #420 in Monroeville, Indiana. She was a graduate of Antwerp High School in Antwerp, Ohio. Jean retired from ITT in Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 2007 after 10 years of service where she worked as a repair technician. Surviving are her husband, John H. "Sarge" Salway of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Sally J. Miller of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Terri L. Salway of Avilla, Indiana; son, John E. Salway of Monroeville, Indiana; brother, Kenneth G. (Evelyn) James of Payne, Ohio; sister, Ila M. (Kermit) Duff of Waynedale, Indiana; brother, Bruce D. James of Columbia City, Indiana; sister, Janet M. (David) Laker of Cecil, Ohio; sister, Diana K. (Terry) Lacy of Napoleon, Ohio; brother, Walter L. (Robin) James of Payne, Ohio; numerous nieces & nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harry A. James (infancy) Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana with Deacon David Laker officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, Monroeville, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana and from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Alzheimers Research Center of Parkview Hospice.
