Patricia M. Tinkham, 83 years old of Monroe, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur. She was born on Sunday, May 6, 1928 in Decatur, Indiana the daughter of the late Brenton Williams and the late Ethel (Turner) Williams. She married the late Maurice LeRoy Tinkham and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1969. Patricia was a member of the Salem Community Church, rural Monroe, Indiana; a former member of the Pleasant Mills Lions Club, where she was the first female President and also the first female President in the State of Indiana for the Lions Club. Patricia was a homemaker, farmer, and had also formerly worked at Hammond's Grocery Store and Val's Department Store. Surviving are her son, Don (Beth) Tinkham of New Haven, Indiana; son, David Tinkham of Monroe, Indiana; daughter, Nancy (Grover) Heckert of Monroe, Indiana; sister, Phyllis (Bob) Sudduth of Angola, Indiana; ten grandchildren, and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. Preceding Patricia in death were one granddaughter, Tina Godla-Tinkham; one brother, Russell Williams; one sister, Mildred Wallace; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Compton officiating. Interment will follow in the Tricker Cemetery, rural Monroe, Indiana. Friends will be received from 12:00 NOON - 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday, July, 22, 2011 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Preferred memorials are to Salem Community Church or Monroe Fire Dept.
