Veora Lucy Buckmaster, 93 years old of Hoagland, Indiana, went to Heaven to be with her Lord and family who were waiting for her on Sunday, July 19, 2009 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Fort Wayne. Veora lived with her son and his wife, Don and Connie J. Buckmaster in Hoagland for the past 3 years and previously was a longtime Ft. Wayne resident. Veora was born on Friday, February 25, 1916 in Monroeville, Indiana the daughter of the late David Wilkins and the late Eunice (Holsapple) Wilkins. She married the late Charles M. Buckmaster on June 21, 1941 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and he passed away in October 1994. Veora was a member of the St. Joseph United Methodist Church in Ft. Wayne, Indiana where she belonged to the Marian Circle at the church. She was a graduate of South Side High School Class of 1935. Veora enjoyed reading, visiting, and her grandchildren. She was homemaker. Surviving are her son, Donald C. (Connie J.) Buckmaster of Hoagland, Indiana, daughter-in-law-law, Connie L. Buckmaster of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. Preceding Veora in death were one son, Dennis K. Buckmaster in January 2009; one grandson, Jef Buckmaster; three sisters, Essa Travis, Mary Lou Oetting, Valetta Federspiel; and one brother, Howard Wilkins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009 in the St. Joseph United Methodist Church, 6004 Reed Road Fort Wayne, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and from 10:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Preferred memorials are to St. Joseph United Methodist Church, Ft. Wayne or Hoagland EMS.
