Marcella E. ""Sally"" Kukelhan, 80 years old of Hoagland, Indiana, passed away at 3:35 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2009 in the Village of Heritage located in Monroeville, Indiana. Sally was born on Friday, November 9, 1928 in Preble, Indiana the daughter of the late Victor Hoffman and the late Pauline (Bieberich) Hoffman. She married the late Elmer Kukelhan on April 23, 1949 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble, Indiana and he passed away on July 1, 1999. Sally was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock; and the Ladies Aid of the church; a member of the LWML; and the Ladies Evening Guild. She was a devoted wife and mother who spent many hours quilting, doing genealogy research of her family and enthusiastically enjoyed watching the Colts and I.U. games. Sally retired in 1985 as secretary from Central Soya after 26 years of service. Surviving are her son, Edward S. (Kathy) Kukelhan of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Sandra K. Miller of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Debra S. Glasper of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Kathleen A. (Steven) Griggs of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Cheryl L. (Gil) Bearman of Hoagland, Indiana; son, Gary L. Kukelhan of Birmingham, Alabama; brother, Gilbert O. (Florence) Hoffman of Hoagland, Indiana; brother, Irvin C. (Carolyn) Hoffman of Monroeville, Indiana; sister, Florence Sebesta of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Eugene K. Hoffman of Monmouth, Illinois; sixteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding Marcella in death were one daughter, Michelle Kukelhan on March 22, 1968; and one grandson, Colin Glasper in 1994. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2009 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock with Pastor Douglas Christian officiating. Interment will follow in the St John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Flatrock. Friends will be received from 12:00 NOON - 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund-Flatrock; National Ataxia Foundation, Foundation Fighting Blindness.
