Berniece F. McBride, 91 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center. She was born on Saturday, February 28, 1920 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late Harley M. Tumbleson and the late Edna (Gay) Tumbleson. She married Robert J. McBride on April 1, 1941 and he passed away on August 9, 2000. Berniece was a homemaker and was a charter member of the Monroe United Brethren in Christ Church. She volunteered with the Adams Memorial Hospital Auxilliary for many years. She was a former member of the Addison Evangelical Free Church in Addison, Illionis for twenty-five years where she was a longtime Sunday school teacher. Surviving are her son, Brice D. (Geraldine) McBride of Rosemount, Minnesota, son, Gerald L. (LaDonna0 McBride of Dallas, Texas, daughter, Ellen (Roger)Verden of Bartlett, Illinois, daughter-in-law, Patricia McBride of Addison, Illlinois, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding Berniece in death were two sons, DeWayne A. & Vernon L. McBride; three sisters, Mildred Kuhn, Helen Tumbleson & Ruth Striker and five brothers, Paul, Harley, Dale, Lyle & Roland Tumbleson.. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2011 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to service time, Sunday, September 4 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home. Preferred memorials are to Monroe United Brethren in Christ Church or Woodcrest Nursing Center.
