Anita M. Carpenter, 77 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2006 at her residence. Antia was born on April 28, 1928 in Tocsin, Indiana, the daughter of the late William Lindemann and the late Alvena (Dibble) Lindemann. Her first husband was Howard Gehrig and he is deceased. She then married Wayne R. Carpenter on December 13, 1958 in Bluffton, Indiana and he survives. Anita was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Decatur, Indiana. Anita was a graduate of Ossian High School, Ossian, Indiana. She was homemaker, and she had also been employed at the General Electric plant in Decatur, Indiana. Surviving are her husband, Wayne R. Carpenter of Decatur, Indiana, son, Eric Gehrig of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. (Jan) Vicki Nussbaum of Monroe, Indiana, son, Bill (Amber) Carpenter of Decatur, Indiana, son, Chris (Kelly) Carpenter of Decatur, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Gene (Jackie) Dettmer of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, brother, David (Alice) Lindemann of Tocsin, Indiana, sister, Sue (Larry) Kumfer of Tocsin, Indiana, and six grandchildren: David Gehrig, Chad Nussbaum, Shelly Nussbaum, Renn Carpenter, David Malone, and Christopher Malone. Anita was preceded in death by two brothers, Chad and Jerry Lindemann. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2006 in the Zion United Church of Christ with Rev. Randy Rossman officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to Zion United Church of Christ.
