Sally S. Alspaugh, 66 years old of Ossian, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2010 in Lutheran Hospital following an illness of twelve years. She was born on Thursday, December 16, 1943 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the daughter of the late B.L. "Rollie" Imel and the late Mable I. (Rupright) Imel. She married H. Ed Alspaugh on October 30, 1960. Sally was a homemaker. She was a dynamic Christian that was an active member of Common Ground Church and the Soul group in the church. She was known as "Doctor Alspaugh" & "Doctor Mom" and known by her grandchildren as "Mema", "Grandma Sassie" and "DamMa". Surviving are her husband, H. Ed Alspaugh of Ossian, son, Curt (Carla) Alspaugh of Craigville, son, Clark (Machelle) Alspaugh of Decatur, daughter, Collette (Jerry) Hurst of Decatur, twin daughters, Colleen (Jim) Cole of Decatur, & Claudine (Josh) Girard of Decatur, sister, Marilyn Bell of Ossian, sister, Shirley (Joe) Pfister of Fort Wayne, brother, Jim T. (Shirley) Imel of Fort Wayne, brother, Robert (Sandra) Imel of Uniondale, brother, Dave (Sharon) Imel of Bluffton, eleven grandchildren; Celeste Rupel, Cody, Caleb, Chris & Cy Hurst, Brittany & Brenna Alspaugh, Chance & Callager Cole and Carston & Brant Girard, two great-grandchildren; Easton Hurst & Babybean Rupel. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010 in the Common Ground Church with Rev. Kevin Stirratt & Rev. Matt Moore officiating. Friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. & 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010, in the Common Ground Church and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to Common Ground Church.
