Anna M. Mcdonald

December 11, 1920 — April 2, 2006

Anna McDonald, 85 and formerly of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 5:30 a.m Sunday at the Hospice Home of Fort Wayne, Indiana where she had been a patient for one day. She had resided at the Harborside Health Center in New Haven, Indiana since August of 2005. Anna was born on December 11, 1920 to Noah and Matilda (Rohrbach) Badertscher. She spent her early years in St. Marys, Ohio where she graduated from St. Marys Memorial High School. She then continued her education by attending International Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. On November 27, 1948, Anna was united in marriage to Robert T. McDonald. They were married for over 42 years when Robert passed away on May 7, 1991. Both Robert and Anna were members of the Salem United Church of Christ, Magley. Anna was employed by St. Ritas Hospital in Lima, Ohio, and then at Adams County Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Indiana, where she worked in medical records from 1965 to 1977. She was then employed at the Northeastern Center in DeKalb County, Indiana, from 1977 to 1985. Surviving are her four daughters, Kay Ellen Warner of Auburn, Indiana, Mrs. Thomas (Lois A.) Miller of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mrs. Dean (Julia H.) Smith of Monroeville, Indiana and Mrs. David (Kathleen) Meyer of Yoder, Indiana. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceding Anna in death were six brothers Albert, Arthur, Paul, Leon, Crist, and Don Badertscher and one sister, Esther Longsworth. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with the Rev. Jean Carmean officiating. Burial will be in the Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery, at Magley. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials are requested to the Salem United Church of Christ Magley, or Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home of Fort Wayne.
