Rose L. Lothamer, 85 years old and a resident of New Haven, Indiana since 1993 and previously of rural Monroeville, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 in Parkview Hospital. She was born on Thursday, April 23, 1925 in Allen County, Indiana the daughter of the late Lawrence Sorg and the late Flora (Till) Sorg. She was married to Harold E. Lothamer who passed away on January 7, 1986. Rose was a member of St. John Catholic Church in New Haven and the American Legion Auxillary Unit #330 in New Haven. She enjoyed her grandchildren and playing BINGO. She was a fry cook at the former Four Aces Tavern for twenty-two years and was a homemaker. Surviving are her son, Stanley H. Lothamer of Fort Wayne, son, Roger J. (Judy) Lothamer of Markle, son, Gary Lothamer of Monroeville, sister, Carolyn Roussey of New Haven, sister, Marilyn (James) Castleman of Monroeville, brother, Richard (Kathy) Sorg of Fort Wayne, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Other than her husband, Harold E. Lothamer, she was preceded in death by two sisters; Genevieve Foreman & Evelyn Minerd and three grandchildren; William, Beth L. & Chris Lothamer. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 in the St. John Catholic Church, New Haven with Father James Seculoff officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Louis Besancon Catholic Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 22 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville with a rosary held at 7:30 p.m. Friday. There will also be visitation 9:00 a.m. to service time on Saturday in the church. Preferred memorials are to Susan G. Komen Foundation or Masses to the church.
