Montella T. "Tillie" Sahie

September 19, 1904 — March 29, 2012

Montella T. "Tillie" Sahie, 107 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 3:51 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Carl (Kathy) Sheehan near Monroeville, where she had lived for the past 7 years. She had previously lived in the Louisville, Kentucky area for many years. Tillie was born on Monday, September 19, 1904 in Lewisburg, Ohio the daughter of the late Ambert L. Thomas and the late Bertha E. (Eller) Thomas. She married the late Herbert Sahie and he passed away in April 1985. Tillie was involved in various Senior Citizens Clubs and the Pinochle Club in Louisville, Kentucky. Her hobbies included sewing and collecting dolls for Appalachian children. Tillie had worked as a sales clerk and a buyer in the children's department at various retail stores. Surviving are her daughter, Delores (Lawrence) Harris of Convoy, Ohio; ten grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandson. Preceding Tillie in death were three sons, James, Richard, and Robert Dasher; and one daughter, Dorthea Dasher. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana with Rev. Bud Ridgeway officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodland Cemetery, located in Van Wert, Ohio. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana and from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Monday. Preferred memorials are to Parkview Hospice or the donor's favorite charity.
