Edgar "Ed" Allen Clem, 85 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2008 in Adams Memorial Hospital Extended Care. He was born on Saturday, November 4, 1922 in Monroeville, Indiana the son of the late Walter F. Clem and the late Minnie (Scott) Clem. He married Lucille M. Beer on February 23, 1944 in Decatur, Indiana. Edgar served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #43 and the V.F.W. both of Decatur, Indiana. Ed retired from Fruehauf Trailer Manufacturing in 1985 as a welding supervisor with 33 years of service. He was also a co-owner of Clem's Lake Campgrounds for nineteen years from 1974 to 1993. Surviving are his wife, Lucille M. Clem of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Sandy Coil of Springfield, Ohio, daughter, Sharon (William) Atkinson of Marion, Indiana, daughter, Nancy (William) Hartman of Coruna, Indiana, daughter, Barbara Clem of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Joyce (Jerry) Arner of Bluffton, Indiana, son, Larry (Jackie) Clem of Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter, Penny Loftus of Decatur, Indiana, son, Troy (Susan) Clem of Fort Wayne, Indiana, sixteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren. Preceding Edgar in death were one daughter, Linda Clem and two brothers, Dale & Howard Clem. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Hirschy officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, Monroeville, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 4 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Adams County Community Foundation Alzheimer/Dementia Fund or the Family Hospice of Northeast Indiana.
