Harriet Ruth Seaman, 92 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 4:40 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2012 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center located in Decatur. Ruth was born on Friday, November 21, 1919 in Huntington, Indiana the daughter of the late Harvey R. Clark and the late Gertrude B. (Aker) Clark. She married the late Wendell J. Seaman on December 15, 1939 in Markle, Indiana and he passed away on January 6, 2011. Ruth was a member of the St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Decatur, Indiana where she was a member of the Martha Circle. Ruth was a cook at Monmouth Elementary School for 28 years retiring on November 21, 1979 and was also a homemaker. Surviving are her daughter, Ann (Dan) Bieberich of Decatur, IN; granddaughter, Lisa (Marlin) Scheumann of Decatur, IN; granddaughter, Lana (Sam) Griffiths of Decatur, IN; brother, Ross (Jackie) Clark of Greenfield, OH; brother, Dale (Stella) Clark of Andrews, IN; brother, Joe Clark of Andrews, IN; sister, Mildred Tullis of Orland, IN; four great-grandchildren: Emily (Adam) Minnich; Natalie (Stuart) Aspy; Kaylee Scheumann; and Benton Griffiths; and one great-great-grandson, Clayton Minnich. Preceding Ruth in death were five brothers, Fred, Max, Robert, Don, and Jim Clark; and one sister, Margaret Rhinesmith. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012 in the St. Mark's United Methodist Church with Pastor Michael Heinbaugh officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in the Woodcrest Chapel in Decatur, Indiana and from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to St. Mark's U.M. or Family LifeCare of Berne.
