June Iris Diehl

June Iris Diehl, 82, of Decatur, Indiana passed away early Friday at her residence. She had been ill since February 2008. June was born on May 20, 1926 in Decatur, Indiana to the late Harley Ward and the late Amanda (Neuenschwander) Ward. She married Brice G. Diehl on April 21, 1945 in Decatur, Indiana and he passed away on March 16, 1997. She was employed by Larry Anspaugh Photography USA as a colorist and was a homemaker. June was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Decatur and a charter member of the Shipshewana Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include four sons; Lon G. (Louise) Diehl of Chiang Mai, Thailand, Timothy J. (Deborah Charren) Diehl of Northampton, Massachusetts, Lee M. Diehl of Nellysford, Virginia & Joel A. Diehl of Shipshewana, Indiana, one daughter, Rebecca A. (Col. Daniel) Reese of San Antonio, Texas, two brothers; Rev. Roger (Marilyn) Ward of Nashport, Ohio & Norman (Delores) Ward of Decatur, Indiana, one sister, Mrs. Harry (Joyce) Moser of Wren, Ohio, fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. June was preceded in death by two foster daughters, Thelma & Phyllis Diehl, one grandson, James Diehl and one sister, Elvira Habegger. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Grace Fellowship Church in Decatur with Pastor Dan York officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the Lake Bethel Cemetery in LaGrange, Indiana. There will be visitation held on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to the Family Hospice of Northeast Indiana or the Wycliff Bible Translators.
