Vivian V. Ball, 86 years old of Woodburn, Indiana, passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2009 in the Village of Heritage located in Monroeville, Indiana. Vivian was born on Wednesday, May 30, 1923 in Decatur, Indiana the daughter of the late Lafait Maddox and the late Willie (Cotton) Maddox. She married the late Lloyd C. Ball on June 4, 1946 in Georgia and he passed away on April 7, 2007. Vivian was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Payne, Ohio; Ladies Aid of the church; American Legion Auxiliary Unit #420 in Monroeville, Indiana; V.F. W. #2457 in New Haven, Indiana; and was a graduate of Monroeville High School Class of 1941. Vivian enjoyed gardening, golf, bowling, and fishing. Vivian was a homemaker and a beautician in her home for 17 years from 1956-1973. Surviving are her son, Armond J. "Arnie" (Sandy) Ball of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Kathleen J. Mott of Antwerp, Ohio; son, John L. (Darlene) Ball of Woodburn, Indiana; daughter, Jone L. (Nicholas) Nicholoff of Monroeville, Indiana; ten grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. Preceding Vivian in death were five sisters: Louise Sipe; Sue Zimmerman; Hazel Maddox, Shermie Sprague, Delores Hill; and one great-grandson, Joshua Bohde (infant). Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2009 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Rev. William Smith officiating. Friends will be received from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to the Village of Heritage Wheelchair Trail Fund.
