Marie A. Hoffman, 94 years old of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, passed away at 6:33 p.m. on Sunday, January 1, 2006 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Marie was born on June 26, 1911 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of the late Christian Trabel and the late Mary (Hartman) Trabel. She married the late Oscar F. Hoffman on August 30, 1939 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel; and he passed away on August 5, 1986. Marie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel; past member of St. Joseph Hospital Auxilliary; Farm Bureau; and Hoagland Area Advancement Association. She was homemaker and did volunteer work at St. Joseph Hospital for over 30 years. Surviving are her daughter, Lucy A. Siebert of Dana Point, California; son, Carl F. (Carole) Hoffman of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Mrs. Ray (Vera E.) Ellenburg of Uniondale, Indiana; son, Ervin J. (Mary) Hoffman of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by one daughter, Velma Hoffman; one son-in-law, Ron Siebert; two brothers, Clarence & Leander Trabel; and two sisters, Louise Mudrack & Rita Buescher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2006 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church-Hessen Cassel with Father Edward Erpelding officiating. Interment will follow in the St Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Saturday. A Rosary service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are Masses to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund or Hoagland EMS.
