Helen E. Beavers, 87 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2007 in the Village of Heritage located in Monroeville where she had been a patient since September of 2006. She was born on Friday, July 11, 1919 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late Roy Nidlinger and the late Iva (Harvey) Nidlinger. She married the late Lawrence "Ed" Beavers on January 27, 1944 in Decatur, Indiana. He passed away on March 26, 1993. Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church of Decatur. She was also involved in the American Legion Auxiliary, Decatur Eastern Star, Women of the Moose, General Electric Quarter Century Club and the General Electric Retired Ladies. She retired from General Electric Company in 1982 with 37 years of service. Survivors include her son, Steven A. (Barb) Beavers of Shipshewana, Indiana, daughter, Arlene K. LaFlash of New Haven, Indiana, brother, Gale (Donna) Nidlinger of Decatur, Indiana, grandson, Adam (Lisa) Clark of Decatur, Indiana, grandson, Andy (Jill) Clark of Woodburn, Indiana, two great-granddaughters, Emerald and Calli Clark of Woodburn, Indiana, three step-grandsons, and five step great-grandsons. Preceding Helen in death was one sister, Juanita Fosnaugh. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Rev. Loren Felabom officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 30 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to First United Methodist Church.
