Della M. Hockemeyer, 86 years old of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2007 in the St. Joseph Hospital. She was born on Thursday, December 2, 1920 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late Edmund Aumann and the late Frieda (Droege) Aumann. She married Norwin T. Stoppenhagen on June 18, 1944 and he passed away on December 10, 1944. Della married Oscar Koenemann on January 14, 1947 and he passed away on December 5, 1952. She married Edgar H. Hockemeyer on January 20, 1973 and he passed away on July 15, 1988. She was a graduate of Monmouth High School and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen where she was a former President of the Women's Guild and was on the Visiting Committee for many years. Della was also a longtime bowler in Decatur. Della was a homemaker and farmer and she had worked at General Telephone for 16 years retiring in 1984. Surviving are her son, Norwin L. Stoppenhagen of South Elgin, Illinois, daughter, Mrs. Greg (Rosie) Shinkel of Churubusco, Indiana, son, Stanley G. Koenemann of Decatur, Indiana, son, Jerry A. Koenemann of Fort Wayne, Indiana, step-daughter, Marilyn Zeller of Monroeville, Indiana, step-daughter, Mrs. Larry (Joan) Miller of Fort Wayne, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Dale (Gertrude) Gresley of Hoagland, Indiana, and sister, Mrs. Gerhard (Dorothy) Selking of Decatur, Indiana, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, fourteen step-grandchildren, and forty-eight step-great-grandchildren. Preceding Della in death were two step-sons, Alfred & Kenneth Hockemeyer, one brother, Edmund Aumann Jr. and one grandchild, Theresa Koenemann. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2007 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with Rev. Thomas Olson officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Preble. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 24 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen or the Student Scholarship Fund through St. John, Bingen.
