Mary M. Freimuth, 98 years old of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2009 in Parkview Hospital. She was born on Monday, March 13, 1911 in Monroeville, Indiana the daughter of the late Samuel Van Buskirk and the late Ida S. (Bittner) Van Buskirk. She married her first husband, Frank D. Clem in 1936 and he passed away on October 24, 1972. She married her second husband, Ferdinand L. Freimuth in 1976 and he passed away on December 26, 1987. Mary was a graduate of Monroeville High School Class of 1929 and of International Business College in 1931. She was a life-time member of the Monroeville United Methodist Church in Monroeville, Indiana and was a former member of the Eastern Star. As a young woman, she worked part-time in her father's grocery store. Later, she and her good friend, Louise Painter, opened "Mi-Lady Shoppe" in Monroeville. She also worked at Wolf & Dessauer's in Fort Wayne, Indiana from 1958-1976 as a sales clerk. Surviving are her son, Max E. (Dianne) Clem of Monroeville, daughter, Myra C. (Patrick) Anderson of New Haven, daughter, Marsha J. Mack of Big Lake-Albion, Indiana, seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Juli Fenton and Lori Mack; two grandsons, John Mack and Aaron Mack; and one brother, Lloyd VanBuskirk; and one sister, Helen Ball; and one son-in-law, Gerry Mack. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2009 in the chapel at the Townehouse Retirement Center with Rev. Doug Vogel officiating. Family and friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Preferred memorials are to Monroeville United Methodist Church. Services conducted by Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana.
