William White Jr., 79 years old of Bluffton, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2009 in the Meadowvale Health & Rehabilitaion Center. He was born on Sunday, June 2, 1929 in Mercer County, Ohio the son of the late William Glen White and the late Glendola (Case) White. He married Charlene Henrietta Wilder on April 16, 1955 and she passed away on June 8, 1973. William served in the United States Army with the 28th Infantry Division, 112th Infantry Regiment during the Korean War, being honorably discharged. He was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur. William retired from General Electric in Decatur with 29 years of service and was a lifetime livestock and grain farmer. Surviving are his son, William A. "Billy" (Angie) White of Decatur, son, Joseph G. "Joe" (Shari) White of Berne, daughter, Paula R. (Bill) Beville of Westport, Indiana, daughter, Carol A. (Vaughn) Swager of Ohio City, Ohio, daughter, Donna J. Bergdall of Decatur, son-in-law, Lynn Myers of Monroe, sister, Dorothy Putman of Panama City, Florida, sixteen grandchildren; Carla Hoffman, Crystal Hershey, Justin White, Amy White, Brittany Bergdall, Brandan Bergdall, Alan Bergdall, Seth Beville, Caylon Beville, Kyle White, Trevor White, Darcci Swager, Colby Swager, Mindy Fruechte, Katie Myers & Carley Myers and six great-grandchildren; Alexia White, Ambria White, Abby Reichart, Hunter Dean White, Madison Hoffman & Mason Fruechte. Preceding William in death were two daughters; Renee Marie Myers and Mary Ann White. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Tom Brunstrup officiating. Interment will follow in the St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Decatur with military graveside services conducte by the Adams Post 43 American Legion Colorguard. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 29 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Adams County Diabetes Connection or the Adams County Community Foundation - Cancer Fund.
