James C. Moses, 93 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 11:20 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2007 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur, Indiana. Jim was born on January 23, 1914 in Root Township, Adams County, Indiana, the son of the late Dale D. Moses and the late Florence (Kunkel) Moses. He married Pauline I. Roughia on February 23, 1933, and she survives. Jim was member of the First Presbyterian Church in Decatur, Indiana; a charter member of the Elks Lodge; a member of the Registered Holstein Association. Jim was an active bowler for 52 years. He received the Hall of Fame Bowler's Award in 2005. He loved sports and supported the Decatur Yellow Jackets and Bellmont Braves. Jim was a dairy farmer for years, operating Moses Dairy Farm; and had worked at Curtis Candy Breeder's Association. Jim sold manufactured housing for 31 years, operating Moses Manufactured Housing. Surviving are his wife, Pauline I. Moses of Decatur, Indiana, son, Jim K. Moses of Marion, Indiana, son, Larry G. (Sidney) Moses of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Wayne (Margaret) Schnepf of Palm Coast, Florida, seven grandchildren: Becky Campell of Marion Indiana, Nancy Hutchison of Athens, Indiana, Libby Moses of Fort Wright, Kentucky, Stuart P. Moses of Marion, Indiana, Timothy J. Moses of Marion, Indiana, David G. Moses of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Scot G. Moses of Decatur, Indiana, nineteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Preceding Jim in death were one brother, Dick Moses; two grandsons, Anthony J. Moses & Christopher P. Moses; and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Moses. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2007 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana, with the Rev. Lora Sherwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to First Presbyterian Church in Decatur, Indiana.
