Lloyd D. Reef, 81 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at his residence. Lloyd was born on October 22, 1925 in Adams County, Indiana, the son of the late Adam A. Reef and the late Ruth E. (Butcher) Reef. He married Martha E. Sheets on September 26, 1948 in Decatur, Indiana and she survives. Lloyd served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Lloyd attended Cornerstone Missionary Church; was a member of the American Legion Post #43; was on the bowling league for 49 years; and bowled the first sanction 300 in the Decatur Bowling Association. He loved pitching horseshoes and did so for over 45 years. Lloyd retired from Yost Construction with 32 years of service; and worked 19 years with Briner Building. Surviving are his wife, Martha E. Reef of Decatur, Indiana, son, Michael A. Reef of Dayton, Ohio, daughter, Barbara A. (Stephen) Montez of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, brother, Ralph L. "Toby" Reef of Decatur, Indiana, sister, Phyllis Rayer of Decatur, Indiana, brother-in-law, Ed Summers of Decatur, Indiana, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren. Preceding Lloyd in death were one brother, Blaine Reef; and one sister, Kathryn Summers. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2007 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Beers officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery, with Military Graveside Honors conducted by American Legion Post #43. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2007 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to Family Hospice of N E Indiana in Berne, Indiana.
