Audley David Turner, 68 years old of Quincy, Michigan, (a former longtime resident of Willshire, Ohio) passed away at 1:58 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2011 in the Community Health Center located in Coldwater, Michigan. David was born on Monday, July 19, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio the Son of the late Ollie B. Turner and the late Martha N. (Sanders) Turner. David was a member of the American Legion Post #191 in Spencerville, Ohio where he served as 2nd vice commander. He was a graduate of Crestview High School. David retired from Sonoco Fibre Drum in 1992. He served his country in the United States Marines during Viet Nam for three tours from 1963 to 1967. David was wounded and received the Purple Heart. Surviving are his son, John David Turner of Quincy, Michigan; son, Charles Christopher (Linda) Turner of Decatur, Indiana; sister, E. June (Bill) Hey of Willshire, Ohio; sister, Judy A. (Ed) Wilkinson of Jacksonville, North Carolina; brother, Robert B. (Cheryl) Turner of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; brother, Paul (Jeanne) Turner of Charlotte, North Carolina; sister-in-law, June Eileen Turner of Van Wert, Ohio; and four grandchildren. Preceding David in death was one brother, Charles Turner. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Rutledge and Pastor Brad Kittle officiating. Interment will follow in the Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Military Graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Post 43. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2011 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana.
