Robert Lee Bamberg, 23 years old of Winnemucca, Nevada and previously of Woodburn, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 in Winnemacca as the result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born on Friday, October 8, 1982 in Kalamazoo, Michigan the son of Jo Dien Bamberg. He was a member of Future Farmers of American (F.F.A.), Westwood Fellowship Church in Woodburn, Indiana, and the National Rifle Association (N.R.A.). He was also active as a youngster in the Woodburn Little League & Boys Scouts. Robert was a 2002 graduate of Woodlan High School where he was active in football. He then graduated in 2006 from Universal Technical Institute in Avondale, Arizona with an associate degree in Diesel & Industrial Mechanics. While in college, he earned a 3.46 GPA and was on the Director's Honors List. He was employed as a Diesel Industrial Mechanic in Travel America, Nevada. Surviving are his mother, Jo Dien Bamberg of Woodburn, Indiana, grandmother, Jane Bamberg of LaGrange, Indiana, and uncle, Leendert Bamberg of Schoolcraft, Michigan. Preceding Robert in death were his grandfather, Roelf Bamberg and his aunt, Karen Bamberg. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2006 in the Westwood Fellowship Evangelical Mennonite Church with Rev. Jeff Shadowen officiating. Interment will follow in the Evangelical Mennonite Cemetery, Woodburn, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 11 in the Westwood Fellowship Church, Woodburn, Indiana and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the church. Preferred memorials are to the family in lieu of flowers.
