William Lewis Boese, 79, of Decatur, died at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 23, 2009 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center in Decatur. William was born on December 24, 1929 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Elmer and Adelia (Ruhling) Boese who are both deceased. William was employed by General Electric in Decatur. He also was employed by the Adams County Highway Department, the Gene Stratton Porter Cabin, and also Schwartz Ford in Decatur. William served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War on the Destroyer USS ORLECK (DD886). William is survived by a son, Scott (Michelle) Boese of Geneva, Indiana; daughter, Robin Ross of Punta Gorda, Florida; and a son, Steven Boese; and 3 Grandchildren: Nathan Boese, Josh Boese, and Chelsea Ross. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Boese and five sisters, Betty Bengs, Dot Donahood, Pat Colomme, Kay Tinker, and Marge Fuhrman. Friends and family will be received from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. There will be no funeral services. Preferred memorials are to the family.
