Raymond E. Deaton

Raymond E. Deaton, 91 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 7:45 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2008 at his residence. Raymond was born on Monday, January 24, 1916 in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of the late Elias A. Deaton and the late Martha N. (Yost) Deaton. He married Kathleen E. Parsons on February 1, 1941 in Hollensburg, Ohio and she survives. Raymond was a member of the Living Word Temple in Decatur, Indiana; the Life Church in Ft. Myers, Florida; and Christ Fellowship Church in Sebring, Florida. Raymond retired in 1980 from Decatur Industries after 22 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen E. Deaton of Decatur, Indiana, son, David L. (Marilyn) Deaton of Ft. Myers, Florida, son, Darrell K. (Millie) Deaton of Decatur, Indiana, brother, Chester F. Deaton of Pleasant Hill, Ohio, sister, Mary Johnston of Pleasant Hill, Ohio, three grandchildren: Ryan Deaton, Nicole Kelley, Karrie Deaton; and six great-grandchildren: Allison Deaton, Caleb Deaton, Sarah Deaton, David Kelley, Cole Kelley, and Melea Kelley. Preceding Raymond in death were one brother, Willard A. Deaton; and one sister, Lenora Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Deaton, Pastor Dan Aguillar, and Pastor David Deaton officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, located in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana, and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to Living Word Temple-Decatur; Life Church-Ft. Myers; Christ Fellowship-Sebring.
