Richard A. Selking, 83 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2010 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center. He was born on Wednesday, May 26, 1926 in Adams County, Indiana the son of the late August Selking and the late Frieda (Gallmeyer) Selking. He married Elma L. Krueckeberg on July 31, 1955 in St. John Lutheran Church, Convoy, Ohio. Richard was a member of the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Decatur. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired in 1987 from General Electric with thirty-two years of service. Surviving are his wife, Elma L. Selking of Decatur, brother, Norbert Selking of McHenry, Illinois, sister, Ruth Ann Schimmel of New Haven, and sister, Janeen (Willard) Merkle of Van Wert, Ohio. Preceding Richard in death was one sister, Margaret Freudenberg. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010 in the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. Jonathan Neipp officiating. Interment will follow in the Redeemer Lutheran Cemetery, Convoy, Ohio. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 30 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Preferred memorials are to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church or Worship for Shut-Ins.
