Robert Dale Marquardt, 85 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 6:25 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2011 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Robert was born on Saturday, April 25, 1925 in Monroeville, Indiana the son of the late Edward Marquardt and the late Bertha (Salway) Marquardt. He married the late Opal P. Feasby on July 28, 1945 in Monroeville, Indiana and she passed away on November 9, 1999. Robert attended Monroeville Church of the Nazarene for over 50 years. He was a graduate of Hoagland High School Class of 1943. He was an avid IU fan, and was a great sideline referee. He raised and bred horses and was the biggest fan of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert was owner of Robert Marquardt Construction for over 50 years; owner of Allen Sewer & Septic Service; farmer; developer of Willow Run addition in Monroeville; a homebuilder; dug ditches for the county and for the states of Indiana and Ohio; and was a member and former Assistant Chief of the Monroeville Volunteer Fire Dept. from 1947 to 1969. Surviving are his daughter, Sandra S. Marquardt (husband, John Webster) of Convoy, Ohio; daughter, Kathy M. (Robert) Enterline Jr. of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Connie Jo (Rex) Reinhart of Monroeville, Indiana; companion, Cleotha "Toey" Hart of Monroeville, Indiana; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and twelve step-great-grandchildren. Preceding Robert in death were five brothers, Albert, John, Raymond, Otto, and Arthur Marquardt; three sisters, Opal Saam, Edith Bowers, & Maebelle Hart; one grandson, Danny L. Doctor; and great-grandsons, Jonah & Joseph Hoffman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011 in the Monroeville Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Brent Hickman, Rev. David Taylor and Rev. Dale Worcester officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 and from 12:00 NOON - 8 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
