Miriam B. Miller, 85 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 1:11 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2009 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur. Miriam was born on Monday, March 31, 1924 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late George J. Brown and the late Flossie M. (Lee) Brown. She married the late Laun R. Miller on January 24, 1941 in Decatur, Indiana and he passed away on October 30, 1996. Miriam was a member of the Union Chapel United Methodist Church in rural Decatur; she belonged to the Missionary Society of the church. Miriam had been a cook at the Villa Lanes Bowling and had previously worked at Wayne Novelty Woodworking. Surviving are her son, Brice A. (Diane) Miller of Deland, Florida, son, Ronald L. (Karie) Miller of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, daughter-in-law, Suette Miller of Decatur, Indiana, daughter-in-law, Teresa Gensheimer of Decatur, Indiana, sister, Violet Braun of Chattanooga, Ohio, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren. Preceding Miriam in death were two sons, Richard E. Miller; Gerald L. Miller; and one brother, Carl F. Brown; and one great-granddaughter, Emily Wilder. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009 in the Union Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Karges officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, Indiana. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to Union Chapel United Methodist Church or Shriner's Children's Hospital.
