Patricia E. Murphy, 73 years old of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Monday, February 28, 2011 at her residence. She had been a resident of Ft. Wayne for 56 years. Patricia was born on Friday, July 16, 1937 in Walkerton, Indiana the daughter of the late Ralph Sheaks and the late Agnes (Hostetler) Sheaks. Patricia was a 22 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary #296; and a 22 year member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary #10006. Patricia had been a waitress and bartender for 30 years in various restaurants and lounges. She was a caretaker in her home, a homemaker, and a former Avon Representative. She liked crocheting and Pogo.com and other internet games. Surviving are her son, Gregory Oliver Sr. (fiance Lisa Miller) of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Monica Oliver (companion Bobby Phillips) of Beryl, Utah; step-son, Richard E. Murphy of Churubusco, Indiana; step-son, Dan Murphy, of Tennessee; step-daughter, Cyndie (Charlie) Shaw of Huntington, Indiana; step-son, William Murphy of Huntington, Indiana; step-son, Kenneth (Laura) Murphy of Huntington, Indiana; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, seventeen step-grandchildren, twenty-one step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-grandchil. Preceding Patricia in death were her first husband, John Oliver; her second husband, Richard W. Murphy; 1 step-son, Greg Murphy; 1 step-father, Ira Abrams; 7 sisters; and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2011 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Rev. Bob Herman officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana.
